SAVING ENERGY IN THE OFFICE With rising energy costs (unleaded gas is well over $3.00/gallon here in California) and the effects of energy on our surroundings, we at Miracle Assistant are always striving to find ways to be environmentally smart in the office. Here are a few tips to reduce consumption at work:
- Telecommute if possible. Do as much work at home via the internet as you can.
- Offer incentives to employees who carpool or use public transportation.
- Avoid rush hour traffic - seems like a no-brainer this one as it can be very stressful and frustrating, but letting your car idle wastes time and energy.
- Need to have a conference? Use communications technology to have a web conference instead so you don't have to leave home.
- Use energy-efficient office equipment and only turn it on when needed.
- Use recycled office products (i.e. ink cartridges, paper, and fax toner).
- Try to use electronic documentation when possible, but if you need to print/photocopy utilize both sides of the paper.

HOW WE DO WHAT WE DO Ever wonder how it is we can appear to be in your office, but not actually be there? It's a Jedi mind trick! Just kidding - there is actually quite a bit of technology (and some other non-tech bits) on our end that goes into it - but here it is in layman's terms:
- How we answer your phones: We have a state-of-the-art VOIP phone system (including 3 teleworkers) which allow us to accomodate up to 28 phone lines. Your clients can call in on a line dedicated to you, and we can answer just as we would if were were next to you.
- How we send out e-mail: We have our own secure server here so all of your pertinent and sensitive information is protected in transmission via Miracle Assistant. Alternatively, we can also help arrange for a dedicated POP email account for you, and set it up so we have an address at your domain of choice, ensuruing continuity in your business (i.e., stacey@yourdomain.com)
- How we know what you like: When you sign on with Miracle Assistant, we have you fill out a Client Information form - a cheat sheet if you will, including your preferences for travel and various other personal information that helps us to assist you more efficiently. This way, we don't have to repeatedly ask you for certain information, as we have it at our fingertips! NOTE: We are like a fine wine, we start off good and get better with time...after a while we won't even need the cheat sheets!
- Large documents you need us to access? No problem! We have what is called an ftp site... You can upload your large documents to this site for us to access and vice versa. No more emailing of large files and having them not go through or being unable to receive them. This solution removes the issue!
